Privacy Policy

ApexSplit is a one-person project — there's no legal team behind this, just Nicolas trying to be straightforward about what's collected and why. If anything here is unclear, email me.

Account data

To sign in, you either pick a name and a PIN (stored as a one-way hash, not the PIN itself), or use a real account via email/password (password stored the same way — hashed, never in plain text) or Google. If you use Google, I receive your Google account ID and the email tied to it, nothing else from your Google profile. Your name is public — it's how you show up on the leaderboard.

Laps and car info

Everything you submit when logging a lap — track, time, sector splits, car details, notes, and any photos, videos, or session files you attach — is public by design. That's the whole point of the site: a shared record book. Don't attach anything you wouldn't want visible to anyone who visits the site.

Bug reports and feature ideas

When you report a bug, suggest a feature, or flag something missing, I get your message, an optional email (only if you want a reply), and — for bug reports specifically — the page you were on, your browser's user agent, and your IP address, so I can actually track down what went wrong. This isn't shared anywhere; it just lands in my own inbox.

Cookies

There's exactly one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. No analytics, no ad trackers, no third-party pixels — I don't run any of that.

Who else sees your data

Resend delivers the emails this site sends you (password resets, confirmations, replies to feedback). Google is only involved if you choose to sign in with it. My hosting provider runs the server and database. Nobody buys, sells, or gets handed your data beyond what's needed to actually run the site — there's no ad network or analytics vendor in the mix to hand it to.

Deleting your data

If you've added an email to your account, there's a "Delete account" button on your account page. It emails you a link, and that link takes you to one more explicit "yes, delete forever" button before anything actually happens — two deliberate steps, not one accidental click. Once confirmed, it permanently deletes your account, your laps, and anything attached to them. There's no undo. If you're on a PIN-only account with no email, email me instead and I'll delete it for you.
